Questions
What counts as a computer?
Each Mac you enter your license key on, so people can reach it from anywhere. Devices you connect from (your laptop, iPhone or iPad) don't count. You can move a license to another Mac at any time from Skylight's Settings or the customer portal.
Do I need a subscription on both devices?
No. Either the Mac you connect to or the device you connect from needs one. On the same network, neither does.
I subscribed in the iPhone app. Does it cover my Macs?
Yes. An App Store subscription lets your iPhone and iPad reach up to 5 computers from anywhere.
How do team licenses work?
Buy as many licenses as you have people, then assign each one to a person's email in the customer portal. Each person gets their own key covering 10 computers, and you can reassign a license when someone leaves.
Is my screen sent through your servers?
No. Connections go directly between your devices, end-to-end encrypted. When a direct path isn't possible, Tailscale's encrypted relays forward the traffic without being able to read it.
